About Us

Dun Laoghaire Youth Service (DLYS), is a joint project of Catholic Youth Care and Dun Laoghaire VEC. It was established in 1982. Its catchment area covers Dun Laoghaire VEC area including Loughlinstown, Ballybrack, Cois Cairn, Sallynoggin, Mounttown as well as Central Dun Laoghaire.

Dun Laoghaire Youth Service provides a quality service supporting youth work activities, developing initiatives and identifying funding and promoting good youth work practices throughout these areas.

The Aims of the Service

• To foster, promote and develop co-operative structures which will give support to youth work programmes, activities and events in established areas.
• To develop and implement such programmes, activities and events with an emphasis on their particular relevance to disadvantaged areas.
• To establish and develop productive links with those members of the young population who are not attracted to the more formal youth organisations.
