Adventure Sports

Adventure Sports  provides youth groups and schools the opportunity to participate in a variety of outdoor pursuits. The programme gives young people the opportunity to experience a natural high through the medium of outdoor pursuits and the arts, as a prevention strategy, around the drug issue.

Aims of Project:

To provide young people an opportunity to participate and gain skills in outdoor sports.

Objectives of the Project:

To build relationships with the group.

To promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

To learn transferable social skills.

Who is the Project aimed at?

Young people between the ages of 10-21 years of age from the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown area.

What will participants do?

They will complete modules in Rock Climbing, Camp Craft, Hillwalking, Kayaking and Sailing.

Once groups are established summer camping trips will be organised.
