Sallynoggin Youth Project

Sallynoggin Youth Project has been part of the area for the last ten years.  The project now operates from the new youth and community building that opened in October 2008.  The official opening of the building took place on the 29th of July 2009 by An Cathaoirleach, Cllr. Marie Baker.

Aims of Project:

To engage and work with young people from the area through a mixture of fun activities, educational and issue based programmes.

Objectives of the Project:

To promote self esteem and self confidence.

To develop practical skills in drama, art, adventure skills etc.

To divert young people from anti-social behaviour.

To make young people aware of the dangers of drug and alcohol misuse.

To provide opportunities for young people to make decisions and take responsibility.

To get young people actively involved in their local community.

Who is the Project aimed at?

All young people living in the area aged between 10 to 21 years of age.

The Sallynoggin Youth Project also runs a community based Summer Project in July each year for young people from the area aged between 5 and 14.
