Boolabus Youth Theatre     

Boolabus Youth Theatre opened it's doors to young people the beginning of February 2007. Starting off with 12 members, the Youth Theatre now has 20 young people attending on a regular basis.

Aims of the Theatre:

To give young people the opportunity to be creative.

To learn Drama, Film skills.

To have fun and make friends.

Objectives of the Theatre:

To provide a safe environment for young people to participate in drama workshops.

To provide opportunities to perform, make films and participate socially.

Who is the Theatre aimed at?

Young people in the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown area aged 15 years +.

What will particioants do?

Drama workshops every Saturday morning, performances and making films.

Youth Arts

The Youth Arts Programme supports various art-based activities for young people and youth leaders:

  • Responds to the artisitc needs of young people in disadvantaged areas.
  • Promotes 'The Arts' as a tool for personal self-development and self-expression amongst young people.
  • Designs creative educational and cultural programmes for young people.
  • Facilities Festivals and Summer Camps for young people; e.g.'The Celtic Festival', 'The Native American Indian Culture' Summer Camp,
  • Supports young people in setting up artisitcs ventures.
  • 'Film Club' - comprehensive film and video projects.
  • Film Festival for young people.
  • Film Festival for Young People.
  • Organises creative workshops for young people,including - Drama, Film, Photography, creative Writing, Arts & Crafts.
  • Supports Youth Theatre projects.
  • Provides Drama in Education performances, programmes and workshops.
  • Showcases artistic work by young people.
